One of the key questions is whether educators can cope with the increased workload.

Vladimir Putin promised to extend the operation of kindergartens and nursery groups until 8:00 PM. The schedule is intended to be changed so that mothers can return to work as soon as possible and not lose their qualifications. Residents of Arkhangelsk actively discussed the initiative. Here«s how northerners assess such a measure.

Most readers of 29.RU who commented on the proposal do not support it, fearing that educators will have to work double shifts for the same salary.

“For the salary that an educator receives now? This is disrespect for the profession and for the person in general,” says Olesya.

“Better to make kindergartens open around the clock, and pick up the child on weekends. Why keep the child overnight if parents can«t even sit and play with him for an hour or two in the evening?” — Sergei jokes. — “They take on two or three jobs, but educators are no worse than you; they also have children to attend to.”

“There are very few educators; they need to work in two shifts, it«s impossible to find so many,” Andrei is convinced.

“Poor educators and nannies…” writes Yulia. Her comment was supported by 26 reactions.

“I don«t know, in our locality not only did they not keep the previous schedule, but they also significantly reduced the kindergarten»s operating hours. Those without grandmothers might as well take the child to work — no one to drop off or pick up. What kind of skill upgrades are we talking about?”

“In big cities — yes, parents don«t have time to pick up children and there are no grandparents nearby. But here, it»s quite normal, they manage. But my grandson«s group has one educator and no replacement for the second, for the fourth year already. Staff shortage is a problem; this needs to be solved first…”

“Did he promise to raise the salary or not?” internet users inquire.

“Allow opening a commercial group so that educators can also earn, not just parents with three jobs.”

“An interesting proposal. It should be balanced with the possibility of being on paid parental leave until the child is three years old; such a choice for the mother would be optimal. Otherwise, they want both more births and earlier return to work. That doesn«t happen in modern society.”

There are also those who do not share the dissatisfaction.

“We are always dissatisfied with something. In the past, in logging settlements, the kindergarten worked until people came back from work, and if there was some accident, they could work until 10:00-11:00 PM, and no one said a word, and canteens worked until the workers were fed, and all for thanks! And now everyone is crying about something… We«re afraid to be late for a minute, and we won»t be paid for it! And children were born out of love, not for money!” says Larisa.

“In the past, children were born in the fields… And laundry was washed in the river… What a bad habit: but in the past…” — Tatyana replies to the comment above.

Another initiative was discussed by parents: in Arkhangelsk schools, behavior grades will be reintroduced. A psychologist also commented on such a measure.
