A woman and her three children died in a fire in the Abinsk district. The tragedy occurred at night in the stanitsa of Kholmskaya, the press service of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (SKR) reported on January 20.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the fatal blaze.

The fire broke out in one of the rooms of a private house on Demyan Bedny Street. The eldest daughter of the homeowner managed to escape and called the fire brigade. After the blaze was contained, firefighters discovered the bodies of a 45-year-old woman, her 6- and 9-year-old children, and a newborn grandson.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) of Krasnodar Krai clarified that the fire covered about 50 square meters of the private house. Thirty firefighters and 11 pieces of equipment were deployed to the scene. The exact cause of the fire is to be determined by MChS investigators.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code (causing death by negligence). Forensic medical and fire-technical examinations have been ordered.
