Volgograd teacher dies in Kazan hotel on her birthday
The most famous teacher from Volgograd, who worked for over 30 years at Gymnasium No. 4 in the Voroshilovsky District, died in a hotel on her birthday. Parents of students called their beloved teacher to congratulate her, but no one answered the calls. Later they found out: Yekaterina Sinelnikova’s heart had stopped.
Information about the tragedy was reported to V1.RU by parents of children who studied under Yekaterina Gennadyevna.
“On October 20, on her birthday, the wonderful hereditary teacher of Gymnasium No. 4, Yekaterina Gennadyevna Sinelnikova, passed away; her mother also taught at this gymnasium,” the parents say. “The children and parents cannot come to terms with this news; she was very loved for her kindness and honesty. She was 58 years old. This tragic news was learned by parents whose children had Yekaterina Gennadyevna as their first homeroom teacher. For many years, they had a tradition of congratulating their beloved teacher on her birthday, but this time Yekaterina Gennadyevna did not make contact, so the parents raised the alarm.”
As a close friend of Yekaterina Sinelnikova told V1.RU, the woman took a vacation and went to Kazan for competitions of her 17-year-old son, who plays basketball.
“The son is involved in sports, lives in a boarding school. Katya took a vacation to go to his competitions. When everything happened, the son was at the boarding school. He started calling her to congratulate her on her birthday, she didn’t answer. Then he called a woman, the mother of one of the boys. She went to her, opens the door, and Yekaterina was already dead… She had a heart attack. Most likely, she didn’t even have time to call for help,” the woman says. “She recently buried her mother, her father is bedridden, very ill, and her only son.”
According to Yekaterina Sinelnikova’s social media, she was last online three days ago. On the day of her death, she posted sunny photos against the backdrop of landmarks in Yoshkar-Ola.
The farewell for Yekaterina Sinelnikova will take place tomorrow, October 24, at the Central Cemetery. The teacher will be buried at the Motor Cemetery in the Dzerzhinsky District.
