Two die in fuel tanker crash near Volkhov
On the Kola highway in the Leningrad region, a head-on collision occurred between a passenger car and a fuel tanker. The driver and passenger of the Nissan died at the scene.

A fuel tanker overturned after a collision with a passenger car on the Kola highway.
The accident happened on the evening of January 20 on the federal highway «Kola» in the area of the village of Selivanovo near Volkhov. According to preliminary data, the Nissan car collided head-on with a fuel tanker.
From the powerful impact, the passenger car was heavily deformed, and its cabin was completely destroyed. The driver and passenger inside did not survive.
The fuel tanker driver was not injured. As a result of the collision, the tank detached from the tractor and overturned into a roadside ditch. A spill of fuel occurred from the damaged container.
Rescuers and other emergency services are working at the scene. Traffic on that section of the highway is temporarily organized in one lane.
