A truck driver was killed in a traffic accident on the Chita–Irkutsk highway in the Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky District on January 20, according to the Telegram channel of the Zabaykalsky Krai State Traffic Inspectorate.

According to preliminary data, at 11:17, the driver of a DAF heavy truck, having chosen an unsafe distance from the vehicle in front, crashed into a Shacman truck. As a result of the accident, the 49-year-old man died at the scene.
The accident occurred near the village of Kharauz (at the 617th kilometer of the Baikal highway). Police officers are working at the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
