Transport Company and Urbanist Clash Over Kazan Bus Incident

In Kazan, Municipal Unitary Enterprise «Public Automobile Transport Enterprise No. 2» (MUP «PATP No. 2») commented on the situation with a bus from which two passengers — a man and a woman — fell out. The enterprise stated that there were no violations by the bus driver, but a city urbanist disagrees with this.

The incident occurred on bus No. 46. According to MUP, a passenger violated transport rules — he leaned against the door and did not prepare to exit in advance, not observing the order when entering and exiting.

«The video shows that the passenger did not prepare to exit in advance. Then he, apparently, remembered that he needed to get off. He started holding the door, which closes automatically — this is strictly prohibited. He began to exit the bus, while pushing a girl who was standing in the aisle near the door in front of him,» the enterprise reported.

They also noted that the bus driver has been working for over a year and during this time there have been no complaints about traffic safety or accidents.

Urbanist Dmitry «Koyash,» in turn, questioned why the passengers themselves are to blame for the fall, considering that the driver did not ensure that the doors were closed before starting to move.

«It is visible that the driver started moving immediately after pressing the close button, but the doors do not do this instantly,» he wrote in his Telegram channel.

He also added that the video shows a new «Nefaz» from one of the latest deliveries, on which a system blocking movement when doors are open is installed from the factory. However, in this bus, it was most likely disabled.

«This is grounds for inspecting the bus fleet and revoking the bus»s factory warranty, if it still exists and if there was interference with the bus«s design,» Dmitry noted.

Recall that two passengers fell out of the bus while it was moving. The Ministry of Health told a 116.RU correspondent that they cannot clarify if they were injured, as their identities have not yet been established. Everything was caught on video.
