Tram Crashes into Three Cars on Krasnoyarsk's Right Bank

On the morning of 20 January, a large-scale traffic accident involving a tram occurred in the Kirovsky district of Krasnoyarsk.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened near the «Uchkombinat» stop on Michurina Street. The tram was unable to brake due to slippery rails and crashed into a car. Two other vehicles were also hit.

At the time of writing, traffic in the area was not obstructed and there were no reports of the accident.
The traffic police (GAI) told NGS24.RU that no one was injured in the accident, which was «registered as a case of material damage.» They also clarified that two Toyotas, a Volkswagen, and a Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) truck were damaged.
The Department of Municipal Services and Transport gave the following explanation:
«The rails are metal, and the tram»s wheels are also metal. All of this freezes over in such frosty weather. The rails were cleaned according to schedule. Accordingly, the traffic police will determine the causes, consequences, and those at fault. They were called to the scene and registered the accident according to all regulations.«
Earlier, NGS24.RU reported on a utility accident on Zheleznodorozhnikov Street, which resulted in water leaking onto and freezing on the roadway.
