Traffic on Third Longitudinal Road in North Volgograd Blocked After Crash

A Mercedes truck veered into a ravine near Orlovsky Spring, causing significant traffic disruptions.
Due to a road traffic accident on the Third Longitudinal Highway in the northern part of Volgograd, traffic has been completely stopped. According to eyewitnesses, a traffic jam of almost two kilometers has formed on both sides.

Traffic on the Third Longitudinal Highway is temporarily halted due to recovery efforts.
Restrictions have been introduced on a section about 1.5 kilometers long in the area of Orlovsky Spring. The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region clarified that rescuers are working at the site, eliminating the consequences of the accident: a Mercedes truck with a semi-trailer veered into a ditch.
«In connection with the work to lift the Mercedes truck with a semi-trailer that veered into a ravine on January 21, the movement of all vehicles will be temporarily restricted,» the department reported.
Traffic is planned to be restored within the next 10 minutes. At the same time, police noted that if necessary, restrictions may be reintroduced during the day.
The section of the Third Longitudinal near Orlovsky Spring is known for its high accident rate; accidents involving heavy trucks often occur here. Three weeks ago, for example, a truck involved in an accident completely blocked traffic in the area of a sand quarry, leading to a multi-kilometer traffic jam.
