Teacher Hits Disabled Student, Threatens to Knock Teeth Out
The incident stemmed from an argument between students during a football game at the school.
A teacher at a school in northwest Moscow hit a child with a disability. The woman threatened to knock his teeth out after he got into an argument with a classmate. The press service of the Department of Education and Science confirmed information about the conflict to MSK1.RU.
The mother of the 10-year-old boy told Ostorozhno, novosti (Caution, News) that her son suffers from diabetes and therefore has a disability. On December 19, during a break, he got into an argument with a student from a parallel class while they were playing football. According to the woman, her son pushed the other boy, after which a teacher ran over to them.
The woman slapped the boy in the face and threatened to knock his teeth out. This moment was caught on a surveillance camera.
«The teachers on duty didn«t see the actual slap and didn»t hear my son insult her in any way. Of course, he was also wrong to push the other boy. I tell him he can«t fight or swear. But an adult person cannot allow themselves to do such a thing. After he was hit, my son said he would call his mom. She yelled: »Go ahead, I«m at the school until 3 p.m.»», the schoolboy«s mother recounted.
Surveillance footage captured the moment the teacher struck the child and made threats.
Following this, the boy«s mother wrote a statement addressed to the school principal demanding the teacher»s dismissal. At a meeting, the teacher said the child had insulted her, but he denied it. School principal Marina Sotnikova said an investigation is being conducted at the educational institution.
«Such an act is completely unacceptable and contradicts ethical and pedagogical norms. The school will not tolerate violence within its walls. We held a meeting with the family, apologized, and began an internal investigation. Upon its completion, the teacher will be dismissed», the principal stated.
The incident was also commented on by the capital«s police. The agency stated it is conducting a check and that no reports of the child being beaten have been filed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
«At the moment, no reports or statements have been filed with the police. Regarding this incident, the Juvenile Affairs Division (PND) is conducting an inspection, upon completion of which a decision will be made in accordance with the law», the agency«s press service reported.
At the same time, MSK1.RU found a number of messages from adults in parent chats supporting the teacher.
«My daughter witnessed the situation. She says the child himself was cursing like a sailor, and our teacher stood up for the boy», wrote the mother of one schoolgirl. «I, honestly, wasn«t aware of it myself at all until today that the situation had turned so serious. The teacher didn»t say anything. From tomorrow, she isn«t teaching. I know the teacher personally, she taught my eldest daughter and until today was teaching my youngest daughter. She has always been open, offered support and help.»
«We are very worried for the teacher, honestly, the situation is terrible. We didn«t understand where the footage from the cameras appeared online — that»s one thing», noted another Moscow resident. «And secondly — the teacher is very good, I«m in the parent chat with the other mothers, there»s an uproar there. What can we do?»

Earlier, a 15-year-old teenager carried out a massacre at a school in the Moscow region. He walked the corridors looking for a specific teacher, sprayed a security guard with pepper spray, and stabbed an 11-year-old boy to death. Timofey T. was soon detained and arrested.
