Daniel Batalov, son of Irina Usoltseva who disappeared more than a month ago in the taiga of Kuturchinsky Belogorye with her five-year-old daughter and husband, commented to NGS24.RU on the ongoing online attacks against him.
In internet communities, the young man is accused of insensitivity, suspicious behavior, and not feeling grief over the disappearance of his relatives. User complaints intensified when a photo from his social media of a party became public.

Daniel Batalov speaking on television about the disappearance and search for his relatives.
«I can»t just shut myself off and fall into this depressive pit right now. I have problems with work. There was a fire in my house, I literally had nowhere to live not long ago. And I lived with my grandmother for some time, and I needed to take care of her, support her. And if she saw my emotions, it would be much, much worse. My friends, who gave me very strong support, who were by my side in such unpleasant, difficult times, did everything right. They tried to cheer me up, they invited me to parties and drinking sessions, so that I wouldn«t shut myself off. And yes, they succeeded. And I believe that»s how one should behave, that«s how one should act. No matter what happens in your life, you always need to stay strong and pretend that nothing happened if you can»t influence it. Why should I shut myself off, a young guy?« — stated Daniel Batalov to NGS24.RU.
He also said that he still adheres to his version, stated on the «First Channel» broadcast, that his relatives are alive.
«I am one hundred percent sure that my parents are alive, that they are not currently in the Kuturchinsky Belogorye. I believe this because during the searches, no traces were found at all, absolutely nothing. And my father is a very experienced person, an experienced taiga dweller, mountaineer, tourist, he simply couldn»t get lost without leaving traces. In all films, they show that people always, when lost, stay in place and leave traces behind. He taught me that, and it can«t be that such a person left nothing at all. It»s impossible. Moreover, over this time, very many people participated in the searches and still found no clues, no traces, I believe they are alive. I can«t assume where they went and the reason why they left I also don»t know, but I am sure they are alive,« says Daniel Batalov.
Recently, we reported that 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,000 at current rates) were found in the glove compartment of the Usoltsev family«s car. But as stated by the investigative committee, there is nothing suspicious in this finding, and the main version of the family»s disappearance has not changed.
