Six trucks crash on Perm Highway, traffic jam forms
On January 29, a mass accident with six trucks occurred in the Nizhneserginsky District.
The exact location is the 291st kilometer of the Perm-Yekaterinburg road. Miraculously, no one was injured in the accident.
According to preliminary data, it all started when the driver of a DAF truck was heading towards Yekaterinburg but failed to maintain a safe lateral distance. He collided with another DAF truck traveling in the same direction.
At the same time, the driver of a Volvo vehicle hit the DAF that had stopped after the first impact. As a result, the DAF was pushed into a KAMAZ truck ahead. Meanwhile, the Volvo veered into the roadside ditch.
Next, the driver of a Sitrak, also failing to maintain distance, crashed into another Sitrak traveling in the same direction. And then hit a stationary DAF.
Due to the chain of collisions, the trailer of one of the DAF trucks was partially destroyed. The cargo spilled onto the road.
«Due to the incident, traffic on this section of the highway in the direction of Yekaterinburg is currently moving in one lane. Drivers traveling in this direction are advised to plan their route in advance and be prepared for difficulties,» warned the Sverdlovsk Traffic Police (GAI).
Drivers have already started sending complaints about the traffic jam to the E1.RU editorial office. According to them, the Perm Highway is jammed from Kungur towards Perm.
Inspectors advised drivers to pay closer attention to the road.
«The State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) reminds of the strict adherence to traffic rules, especially in difficult winter conditions. It is extremely important to choose a safe speed, increase distance and lateral interval, and completely refrain from dangerous maneuvers,» emphasized the GAI.
