According to information, the first impact occurred when the driver of a DAF truck, heading towards Yekaterinburg, failed to maintain a safe lateral interval and collided with another DAF truck traveling in the same direction.
Then, a Volvo truck hit the DAF that had already stopped after the collision. From the impact, it was thrown onto a Kamaz truck driving ahead, and the Volvo veered off into the roadside ditch.
Later, the driver of a Sitrak truck, also failing to keep distance, crashed into another Sitrak truck traveling in the same direction, and then hit a stationary DAF truck.
As a result of the series of impacts, the trailer of one of the DAF trucks was damaged, and the transported cargo spilled onto the roadway.
«Due to the incident, traffic on this section of the highway in the direction of Yekaterinburg is currently proceeding in one lane. Drivers heading in this direction are advised to plan their route in advance and be prepared for difficulties,» warned the press service of the Sverdlovsk State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI).
Road users are already reporting the formation of a traffic jam. According to them, the Perm Highway is backed up towards Perm, starting from Kungur.
«The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds of the strict observance of traffic rules, especially in difficult winter conditions. It is extremely important to choose a safe speed, increase distance and lateral interval, and completely refrain from dangerous maneuvers,» added the department.
