The Onokhino Secondary General Education School has switched to distance learning following reports of a gastrointestinal infection outbreak.

The school administration confirmed: “Yes, the school has gone remote. [How long this will last] is still unclear, pending some specific [instructions].”

Rumors about a potential shift to remote learning had previously appeared in parent chats but lacked official confirmation. Reports of intestinal infection cases in the Tyumen district emerged the day before. According to the Telegram channel BAZA, 116 children have shown symptoms of the illness, with one reportedly hospitalized.

Russia«s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding the incident. Inspections at the educational institution are currently being conducted by the Department of Health and Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).

Local authorities have officially denied information that appeared online about a similar infection outbreak in the settlement of Chervishevo.
