Of course, the main goal is to obtain codes. The fraudsters claim that an SMS message will arrive, which the person needs to dictate.
In this way, the deceivers gain not just a set of numbers, but access to various services and personal data. The main aim is to profit from trusting citizens. People are urged not to believe such schemes and not to dictate any codes.

Recall that one of the high-profile fraud cases recently occurred: an 18-year-old resident of Stavropol, believing a series of calls «from department specialists,» sent over 1 million rubles (approximately $10,000 at current rates) to unknown individuals. A standard explanation about «data verification» was given, along with a request to dictate a code from an SMS allegedly to update the registry. This is how the deception began.
