Omsk woman details abuse, says marriage changed husband

The couple, who were introduced by friends, are now divorcing after the violent assault.
Elvira, a young woman from Omsk whose husband, Andrei, broke her nose over a poorly washed sink, told an NGS55.RU reporter the details of what happened. As it turned out, her husband was genuinely unhappy with how she handled the household chores.
“He comes home from work and says: ‘you washed the oven badly,’ I could tell he was on edge. I kept silent; I never raised my voice with him. And because of the oven, he starts swearing at me. Then he leaves for training, saying: ‘I expect it to be clean by the time I’m back.’ Then he calls repeatedly, asking to go for a walk. I say: ‘I can’t, I’m still cleaning the oven.’ He returns from training, sees that I cleaned the oven, and gives me a big bouquet of chrysanthemums as an apology for the rude words. I accept them, but the moment I walk from the kitchen into the room, before I can even reach the bed, he falls to his knees and starts screaming that the sink cost 90,000 rubles (about $1,000 at current rates). I didn’t notice when the water dried, and white stains were left. And because of that, he started yelling,” the woman from Omsk shared.
Elvira asked Andrei to go outside to calm down. But he didn’t listen and hit his wife in the face with a rag. After that, she packed her things and went to her sister’s. That same evening, the woman from Omsk realized she loved her husband and went back to reconcile. But the next morning, she again faced aggression from Andrei.
“In the morning he says: ‘Let’s go, I have to get to work, I’ll take you to your parents.’ I understand that we haven’t reconciled. We were driving near the television factory, I wanted to hug him, and he said: ‘Don’t.’ I decided to tell him everything. And at that moment, he hit me twice on the head, and the third punch—with his fist—was to the nose. He himself realized he went too far. I look at him and say: ‘You seem to have broken my nose.’ And he says: ‘If I did, I’ll pay for your plastic surgery.’”
Elvira spent about 20 days in the hospital. She realized she could no longer tolerate her husband’s treatment, so she filed for divorce. According to her, Andrei always knew how to be charming and court her, but changed after the official marriage stamp in their passports.
“He knows how to court, is always charming, has a higher education, a good person. But this, in fact, is what makes a domestic tyrant. After the stamp in the passport, everything changed. He started constantly being at work. I was always the one to go grocery shopping. Some kind of psychotic outbursts of anger and rage started to manifest in him precisely after the wedding.”
The young couple was introduced by mutual friends. The former lovers are no longer in contact. Elvira is now living with her parents.
The police are already investigating the incident.
