According to the investigation, the perpetrator hid two bottles of beer in a bag and at the checkout paid only for cat food, pretending the purchase was complete. When the salesperson noticed suspicious behavior and approached to clarify, the man pulled out a knife and, under threat of violence, fled with the stolen alcohol.
Operatives reviewed footage from surveillance cameras and quickly identified the suspect. He turned out to be an unemployed Murmansk resident, previously convicted for a similar crime.
A criminal case of armed robbery has been initiated against the man. The court placed him in custody — now he faces up to 10 years in prison.
