The Investigative Committee (IC) continues to investigate the mysterious disappearance of the Usoltsev family, who set out on a tourist hike in the Partizansky district of the Krasnoyarsk region. The IC has named the main theory of what happened — an accident.

However, a criminal trail is not ruled out. The main circumstances of the case are as follows: according to investigators, the family could have fallen victim to the harsh conditions of the wild. There are several probable scenarios for the tragic events:

  • Sudden change in weather conditions;

  • Hypothermia;

  • Injuries in hard-to-reach areas of the taiga.

Investigators note that until the moment the family members are found, every possible scenario must be considered, RIA Novosti reported citing the regional head investigative department of the IC.

Earlier, eyewitnesses reported that the Usoltsev family was walking in a different direction from where the search began.

The Usoltsev family disappeared in the area of Kuturchinsky Belogorye at the end of September. It was reported that 48-year-old Irina Usoltseva, her 64-year-old husband Sergei, and their 5-year-old daughter set out from a tourist base in the village of Kuturchin on a hike to Mount Buratinka and soon lost contact.

They were searched for by hundreds of people, drones, helicopters, and special equipment, but no traces were found. Theories about the disappearance were numerous: from a maniac attack to fleeing abroad.

Particular attention in this story is drawn to the behavior of Irina«s elder son — Danil Batalov. From the very beginning of the events, he has been behaving calmly and even joyfully. The guy believes that soon his mother will contact him.

In early December, a rescuer stated that there are only two realistic versions of what happened to the missing family: freezing or encountering wild animals. In his opinion, under any circumstances, they could not have survived in the taiga.

Everything known about the search for the Usoltsevs missing in the taiga of the Krasnoyarsk region is collected in a separate story.
