Girl killed in head-on collision with tractor-trailer in Leningrad Region

A fatal road traffic accident occurred in the Lomonosovsky District of Leningrad Region. The information about the incident was confirmed on January 29 by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

The collision happened on the evening of January 28 around six o«clock at the 4th kilometer of the Ropsha – Maryino highway. According to the department, the girl driving a Škoda Fabia veered into the oncoming lane, where a head-on collision occurred with a Shacman tractor-trailer that was towing a trailer.

As a result of the impact, the young woman sustained injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene before medics arrived. The 54-year-old truck driver, according to preliminary information, was not injured. Law enforcement officers are continuing the investigation to establish all the details of what happened.
