Firefighters Respond to Blaze at Volgograd Bus Stop

Eyewitnesses reported a fire in Volgograd«s Krasnoarmeysky district, with firefighters and an ambulance gathering at the Proletarskaya Street stop.

«Several fire trucks and an ambulance are stationed at the stop in the direction of the canal,» eyewitnesses said. «It looks like something is burning.»

Footage sent to V1.RU by readers shows smoke billowing from under the roof of a pavilion, with fire crews from two stations in the district inspecting the structure. Fire hoses laid from one truck suggest a short circuit caused the blaze.
According to preliminary information obtained by V1.RU, a short circuit in the electrical wiring occurred in the flower pavilion at the stop.
The Russian Emergency Ministry«s Directorate for the Volgograd Region provided details on the incident:
«At 11:45, we received a report of a fire in the Krasnoarmeysky district,» rescuers stated. «The wooden roof sheathing of the pavilion was burning over an area of 10 square meters. Crews from the 6th Fire and Rescue Unit localized the fire at 12:04.»
Recall that several days ago, firefighters were also called to Proletarskaya Street for a multi-vehicle collision where one car caught fire. Fire crews from nearby Station No. 6 quickly extinguished the engine compartment, preventing the fire from spreading.
