Fire breaks out at restaurant on Pravdy Street

On the evening of January 29, a fire broke out at a cafe in central St. Petersburg. Witnesses immediately began posting photos and videos from the scene on social media.

The fire started around 18:30 at a restaurant on Pravdy Street, 1/11. The total area of the premises is 100 square meters.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze within two hours, with no reports of injuries.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for the city, the source of the fire was a ventilation hood where accumulated grease ignited.
To extinguish the fire, four fire trucks with fifteen rescuers were dispatched to the scene. They managed to completely put out the flames by 20:03.
It is reported that the fire area was limited to two square meters. No information about casualties as a result of the incident has been received.
