Criminal case opened after trolleybus hits teenager

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case over the trolleybus accident for providing services that do not meet consumer safety requirements. Investigators will check not only the circumstances of the accident, but also the activities of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise «Electric Transport». The actions of officials will be given a legal assessment.

The incident occurred on the morning of 29 January on Karl Marx Avenue near the Cascade shopping center. The trolleybus driver went through a red light and hit a teenager who had started crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing. The moment of the accident was caught on video. The child is in intensive care.
As reported by the regional investigative committee, the trolleybus driver was distracted and did not notice the red traffic light.
