After the collapse of asphalt paving, that occurred on the morning of 30 January 2026 on Montazhnikov Street in the regional center, a criminal case has been initiated. The article is «Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements» (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It has been taken under control by the prosecutor of Orenburg Region, Ruslan Medvedev.

According to available information, after hot water washed away the soil, the asphalt collapsed, and two people fell into the pit (one of them is a minor). Both were hospitalized in serious condition with burns. At the scene of the incident was the head of Orenburg, Albert Yumadilov, and the situation is also under the control of Governor Yevgeny Solntsev.

On the section of Montazhnikov Street from Promyshlennaya Street to Avtoremontnaya Street, traffic is closed until 27 February. A correspondent from 56.RU was at the scene, and a more detailed photo report will be shown in the near future.
