The First Western District Military Court found a 16-year-old eighth-grade student guilty and imposed a sentence. The guilty verdict in her case was issued back in October 2025, as evidenced by court records data.

The defendant was convicted under two articles of the Criminal Code:

  • public justification of terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),
  • facilitation of terrorist activities (Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

A measure of restraint in the form of deprivation of liberty for four years to be served in a juvenile correctional colony was imposed based on the totality of crimes.

The press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg confirmed the issued verdict.

The court proceedings are related to an incident at the educational institution where the girl posted photos of Denis Kapustin and Alexei Levkin on a school bulletin board. The inscription «Hero of Russia» was made on the pictures.

Denis Kapustin, who is the founder and a member of the «Russian Volunteer Corps»*, was sentenced in Russia to life imprisonment. Alexei Levkin has been arrested in absentia on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities. Both have been included by Rosfinmonitoring (the Federal Financial Monitoring Service) in the list of terrorists and extremists.

The posted photos were discovered in the school hallway only on the third day after the incident.
