Authorities Say Anapa's 'Cockroach in Gift' Video Was AI-Generated

In late December, local Telegram channels circulated a video. The footage shows a children«s New Year»s party and a little girl who, with her mother, opened a box of sweets from which cockroaches crawled out. The woman who allegedly posted the video said the child suffered psychological trauma and the family received another gift as compensation.

The situation was commented on by the operational headquarters. They reported that experts examined the clip for signs of generative neural network interference. As a result, they determined it had been falsified. However, it turned out that real footage was combined with superimposed digital objects.

«Before being handed out, all gifts, as noted by the Anapa administration, are checked to ensure the contents match what the supplier stated. No »insects« were spotted in any of the boxes. The published video is an isolated incident; there have been no other negative reviews about the quality of New Year»s gifts. Meanwhile, in Anapa, over 15,000 packages have already been distributed,« the operational headquarters said.

Earlier, parents at a kindergarten in Krasnodar complained about cruel treatment of children. They contacted local public pages and reported that in early December, teachers in one of the groups pulled children by the ears, shouted, and hit toddlers on the head. The kindergarten«s management denies this.
