Authorities emphasize parental responsibility after a minor caused an accident by operating a vehicle in Sochi.

In Sochi on Teplichnaya Street, a 13-year-old teenager got behind the wheel of a ZAZ car and started the engine with the gear engaged. As a result, the car jerked forward, drove onto a lawn, where it hit an 8-year-old girl pedestrian. According to the press service of the Sochi State Traffic Inspectorate, the child suffered injuries and was hospitalized.

The Sochi State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that driving a car is permitted only for persons who have reached the age of 18, after completing a driving school course and obtaining a driver«s license. Parents, do not neglect these rules, do not hand over the right to drive to children, do not leave vehicle keys freely accessible to children, the message states.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that parents are responsible for the actions of their children until they reach adulthood.
