Water Bills Rise in Tyumen, Unrelated to Tariff Index

In the foreseeable future, those accustomed to paying for water based on norms will become significantly fewer.
In Tyumen, the penalty (increasing) coefficient for calculating cold water charges in the absence of a meter has been raised. If it was 1.5 before, now it is 3. Residents will see the changes in their January bills.
«The same coefficient (x3) applies if the meter is broken or its verification interval has expired. An exception is the lack of technical possibility for installing individual metering devices. If installing a meter in the apartment is technically impossible, and this is confirmed by a special act, the increasing coefficient is not applied,» said Larisa Borovitskaya, the chief state housing inspector of the Tyumen Region, to 72.RU.
The topic of rising utility costs for Tyumen residents is now more relevant than ever. Recall that from January 1, utility tariffs were indexed by 1.7% (the difference will be seen in this month«s bills). The second indexation – by a record 27.9% – will be in October.
Not immediately, but the authorities explained the reason for such a sharp increase in the cost of electricity, water, heating, and other usual amenities. Details are in this article on the topic.
