Owners of apartments in the apartment building at Roshchinskaya, 46/2 in Yekaterinburg were shocked by the amount in January bills for electricity consumed for the maintenance of common property.
The December charge for a two-room apartment was about 131 rubles (about $1), while the January bill reached 717 rubles (about $8).

One of the residents, Denis, reported a sharp jump: «In the bill for December 2025, the shared electricity amounted to 130.76 rubles (about $1) for a two-room apartment, and in the bill for January 2026 the amount increased five and a half times. How could the meter readings increase so much? How much elevator riding or installing a mining farm somewhere would that take?»
Representatives of the management company «Roshchinskaya» stated that the charges are made by the Unified Settlement Center (ERC), and the management company only transmits the readings of the common building meter. Owners wishing to understand the situation were advised to contact the company«s office on an individual basis.
The ERC confirmed the correctness of the charges. «The charges were made correctly — based on the volumes from the common building meter, transmitted to us by the management company. In January, a significantly larger volume was transmitted than in December. Hence the amount,» the center explained. They also noted that in December, the management company transmitted the readings four days earlier than usual.
To resolve the issue, the residents have already prepared and sent a collective application through the «Gosuslugi Dom» app.
