Siberian woman settles debt to receive condemned housing payout

A Siberian woman owed money to two credit organizations, leading to bailiff action after a court case.
A Siberian woman paid 660,000 rubles (about $6,600 at current rates) in debts to receive compensation for her apartment in a condemned building, according to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service (GU FSSP) for the region.
The 26-year-old resident of Ob city in Siberia accumulated a debt of 617,000 rubles (about $6,200 at current rates) to two credit organizations. After the creditors went to court and obtained writs of execution, the documents were transferred to the bailiff service.
A bailiff imposed a seizure on the woman«s real estate, prohibiting any registration actions. She said her building was declared condemned, and owners were entitled to payments, but she could not receive compensation without first repaying the debt to lift the seizure.
The woman paid the full debt amount and an enforcement fee of 43,000 rubles (about $430 at current rates). The bailiffs then lifted the seizure from the property.
Recently, NGS reported that a resident of Ordynsky District tried to escape from a bailiff who was supposed to detain her due to alimony debt. She attempted to climb out a window.
