Rostovvodokanal recommends that residents of the region install water meters to reduce utility costs. This is due to the increase in the multiplying coefficient for calculations based on norms to 3 from the beginning of 2025.
The company«s website provides a specific calculation: »For example, for a family of three, the monthly payment for cold water alone will be more than 5,000 rubles (approximately $56 at current rates). In a private house during the watering season, this amount can increase several times over.«
If installing a meter is technically impossible, it is necessary to call an inspector from Rostovvodokanal. After surveying the premises and drawing up a report, the multiplying coefficient will not be applied.
It is noted that from the beginning of 2026, the fee for cold water has been increased for all Russians without meters. The Ministry of Construction (Minstroy) stated that this was done to encourage the installation and verification of metering devices.
