Residents of apartment building No. 23 on Pogranichnaya Street in the Leninsky District of Chelyabinsk report a massive rat infestation. The rodents freely move around the entrance hall and attempt to penetrate living quarters.
Residents are using poison in a desperate attempt to reduce the rat numbers.

One resident, Irina, linked the problem to irregular garbage removal by the management company «Remzhilzakazchik». «In our building, there is still a garbage chute; garbage was last removed from it on December 30 and January 13,» Irina said. «Because the garbage wasn»t cleared during the holidays, a horde of rats appeared. They are increasing in number: they run around the entrance, get into pockets, apartments. Some residents have started poisoning them on their own, which is why corpses are found underfoot in the entrance, and other rats eat them.«
Dead rodents are left in the building«s entrance after failed extermination attempts.

According to residents, they have repeatedly complained to the management company, but there has been no response.
The management company «Remzhilzakazchik» stated that the garbage chute will be cleaned in the near future, and sanitary treatment of the entrances against rodents will be carried out.
Similar cases have occurred in Chelyabinsk before. Two years ago, residents of houses on Teplotekh and in the residential complex «Lesoparkovy» faced a rat infestation.
