Prosecutor Arrives in Churilovo Due to Large-Scale Water Outage
The cause of the outage was an accident on the networks.
The prosecutor of the Traktorozavodsky District went to Churilovo in Chelyabinsk due to a mass water outage. This was reported on Tuesday, January 20, by the press service of the department.
Free water from barrels in Churilovo began to be distributed on the morning of January 20.
«District prosecutor Alexei Glazkov went to the site of the utility accident on the main water supply pipeline along Davydov Avenue,» the prosecutor«s office reported. »The situation with the elimination of the accident is under control. Based on the results of the inspection, an assessment will be given to the actions of authorized officials regarding the timeliness and completeness of measures taken to eliminate the accident.«
Recall that the Chelyabinsk water utility warned about outages the day before, on January 19. Water was supposed to be shut off for a day, from 00:00 to 24:00 on January 20. In fact, some houses were left without water earlier. According to the prosecutor«s office, by Tuesday evening, 137 high-rise buildings remain without water supply.
The Municipal Unitary Enterprise «Production Association of Water Supply and Sewerage» (MUE POVV) reported that until the accident is completely eliminated, barrels with drinking water will be operating at the addresses: 2nd Eltonskaya, 50, 52, 54, 56, 59; Zaltsmana, 16; 1st Eltonskaya, 44; Dukhova, 27.
«We are making every effort to complete the repair work as soon as possible,» added representatives of the water utility.
