Residents of the high-rise at 8a Letchikov Street reported that their building has turned into a steam room. The basement was flooded with hot water. This happened on January 12.

The persistent dampness has caused plaster to begin peeling off the walls in the affected areas.

«Steam is coming from all the manholes in the yard, the walls of the third entrance are damp, the whitewash is peeling off, moisture is getting into the apartments,» complained a resident named Zinaida. «The wiring in the electrical panel burned out. We are living in an emergency situation, without light, and apparently, soon without heating.»

According to the woman, the steam has started spreading to the upper floors. By calling the hotline of the management company (EMC Housing and Communal Services), residents were informed that the burst occurred on the networks of the Yekaterinburg Heat Network Company (ETK). On January 20, utility workers pumped water out of the basement, but for some reason, it continued to flood the space.

«Indeed, a request has been received from this building. Today, an emergency crew will repair the pipe. The work is planned to be completed by 5 p.m.,» the press service of ETK reported.

Utility accidents periodically occur even in brand-new buildings. For example, we reported on the situation in the Twins residential complex in Uralmash. Before the New Year, there was a large-scale flood of feces.
