Omsk woman films boiling water bubbling from street sinkhole

A week after a heating network accident, an Omsk resident captured video of a sinkhole on Rokossovskogo Street where boiling water is visibly bubbling and steaming.

On the Left Bank, at 28 Rokossovskogo Street, a local resident filmed the asphalt collapse after an accident on the heating networks. The footage shows thick steam rising from the hole, with the sound of boiling water bubbling. The information was published on the Telegram channel «Emergency Omsk».

The video clearly captures the bubbling sounds emanating from the hole in the asphalt.

«A hole collapsed, and boiling water is bubbling in it. Where is it flowing? Under the house? Then the house will sink into the ground! You can hear it bubbling under high pressure. It»s scary to live in the house, to walk and drive by. What if the asphalt collapses — you«ll boil in that hot water,» the Omsk resident said.

According to the city resident, utility services sent residents a bill for 2,637 rubles (about $26 at current rates) for heating that they didn«t actually receive.

Today, NGS55.RU requested a comment from the city mayor«s office on the situation. The department said that »Heat Company« inspected the accident site. Currently, all work has been completed, and no damage to the external networks of the organization was recorded.

In November last year, NGS55.RU reported that an Omsk resident fell into a hole with boiling water on Malaya Ivanovskaya Street. He suffered burns over 60% of his body and died in December.
