Novosibirsk expert shares cheapest way to descale a kettle

After cleaning, boil the kettle with plain water 2-3 more times.
White flakes in tea, light spots on the heating element in the kettle, and a strange taste of water can indicate the formation of limescale. The head of a Novosibirsk cleaning company explained how to get rid of such contamination.

How to descale a kettle
“The most effective and cheapest cleaning method is citric acid. It is necessary to fill the kettle 90% with plain water and add two tablespoons of food-grade citric acid. After that, it is necessary to boil the water and leave the kettle for 10 minutes. This time will be enough to remove the contamination in 99% of cases. If limescale remains in the kettle, you can repeat the procedure a second time,” shared Lev Rusanov, head of the Novosibirsk cleaning company Apex-Clean.
He noted that after this, it is necessary to boil plain water in the kettle 2–3 times to remove any residue of the agent. In addition, the company manager advises carrying out the process in gloves and avoiding contact of the agent with skin and eyes.
What not to do
When cleaning the kettle, you cannot use abrasive sponges and cleaning powders, as they can scratch the internal coating, and in the future, limescale will form even faster.
