Novosibirsk business-class complex two-level garage flood submerges cars
The flooding made it impossible for residents to reach their cars in the two-level underground garage.
The two-level parking garage at the La Grande business-class residential complex on 73 1905 Goda Street in Novosibirsk was flooded. Many residents did not have time to remove their cars. The incident was reported by several readers of NGS.
The photo shows the extent of the flooding, with water covering the floor and car tires in the garage.
According to residents, the water started flowing around 9 a.m. Locals add that they were not officially notified about the incident in the chat, so many did not have time to remove their cars. Neighbors called each other and knocked on doors to save their vehicles.
“People in rubber boots tried to get to their cars until the last moment, opened the door, and the water was up to the base of the steering wheel. Next to our car stood a Porsche in a cover, and the owner is currently not in Russia,” noted one of the female residents.
Residents suspect that a cold water pipe burst; currently, cold water has been turned off throughout the building. An emergency team is working in the residential complex.
The building is managed by the company «Dom» (House). NGS was unable to reach the dispatcher; the phone numbers listed in the 2GIS service are disconnected. The journalist sent inquiries to «Gorvodokanal» (City Water Utility) and to the management company «Dom».
