Novosibirsk Apartment Drops to 5°C, Resident Cooks Porridge for Warmth
The apartment«s thermometer captured a reading of 5°C, illustrating the severe heating problem faced by residents.
Heating problems have arisen in a house at Uritskogo Street, 36 in central Novosibirsk. This was reported by a local resident.
According to Natalia, disruptions in their building occur regularly. Recently, it has become very difficult: the thermometer in the apartment shows +5 degrees Celsius (41°F), and in the stairwell, -3 degrees Celsius (27°F).
«For example, I don«t stay overnight here because it»s impossible to simply be at +5 degrees. And my neighbor says, «I»m going to cook some porridge to warm up the apartment,«» says Natalia.
The house at Uritskogo Street, 36 is an eight-story brick building with wooden floors, built in 1935. The first floor houses commercial spaces. Residents recall that previously, one of the organizations cut off the radiators in the stairwell to separate themselves.
As explained to NGS.RU by the Siberian Generating Company (SGC), the heat supply parameters at the building«s inlet are ensured; the problem is in the building itself.
«The management company is flushing the radiators upon residents« requests. In the stairwells, the management company»s employees have re-cut the risers due to defects,» explained SGC.
NGS.RU has contacted the management company LLC «DOST-N» and the Novosibirsk city hall for comments.
NGS.RU had already reported on this building«s heating problems in the autumn of 2024. At that time, the apartments were warm for only three hours since the start of the heating season.
