MTS increases tariff for Netarif plan starting February 2

Mobile operator MTS is raising the monthly fee for its 'Netarif 122022' plan by 80 rubles from February 2, citing increased expenses and infrastructure costs.

Mobile operator MTS will increase the monthly fee for the «Netarif 122022» tariff by 80 rubles starting February 2. Currently, the package of 400 minutes, 5 gigabytes of internet, and 50 SMS per month costs 441 rubles (about $4 at current rates), but in February the fee will be 521 rubles (about $5 at current rates). Subscribers have received relevant notifications.

The monthly payment for the plan will rise effective from February 2024.

The company cited several reasons for having to resort to this unpopular measure. These include the need to develop and modernize infrastructure, as well as expand network coverage.

«In addition, the changes are due to other objective reasons, including the increase in external expenses. Other cost items also affect the price of communication services — rental payments, fuel, construction and installation work, laying cable trunk lines and local communication lines, and software updates.»

NGS55.RU has requested a comment from the company on the tariff increase situation and is awaiting a response.
