At the direction of Murmansk Region Prosecutor Sergei Pavolin, an inspection has begun due to mass power outages in settlements in the region. Specialists from the Rostekhnadzor (Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) department have been involved in the work.

Inspectors will assess how grid organizations comply with electricity supply laws and whether residents« rights are violated in the provision of utilities. Special attention will be paid to the preparation of energy facilities for the winter period, when the load on the grid is at its peak.

It will also be checked whether energy workers have enough resources and equipment to quickly eliminate accidents and whether the established deadlines for restoring power supply are met. The progress and results of the inspection are under the supervision of the Murmansk Region Prosecutor«s Office.

Recall that the press service of «Rosseti Severo-Zapad» (North-West Interregional Distribution Grid Company) reported that the cause of the outage was a technological fault on an overhead power line.
