Astronomical Water Bill for SVO Soldier's Wife Sparks Samara Scandal

It became known how the story ended for a resident of Tolyatti, the wife of a Special Military Operation (SVO) soldier, who was charged a substantial amount for water supply. The woman was dismayed upon seeing the bills and sought help. Deputies took up the matter, and the State Housing Inspection (GZI) conducted a check.
«The information became a reason for a check by our inspectors and a meeting — we invited representatives of the resource supply organization to it. As a result, a decision was made to adjust the charges due to a faulty meter,» said the GZI.
The problem of the Tolyatti woman was reported by a deputy of the regional duma — she turned to him for help. According to him, such a debt grew in just a few months.
«The wife of a mobilized soldier, living on Zhilina Street, was charged 94,000 rubles (approximately $940) for water supply services over six months (from May to November). Neither the management company nor Volzhskie Communal Systems have yet provided a clear answer as to where such an astronomical amount came from. It is assumed that there was a technical error, but no one has recalculated, the debt still hangs,» reported Maxim Guseinov.
Earlier, deputies dealt with problems of citizens who faced a sharp increase in tariffs for maintenance of in-house and in-apartment gas equipment (TO VD(K)GO).
Residents of Samara Oblast were upset twice: first by the very fact of adding another bill to the usual stack of utility receipts, then by the increased amounts of payments.
