Over the past week, 5,242 cases of ARVI and flu were recorded in the Ryazan region, which is 2,328 more than from January 5 to 11. According to the regional Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing), after the New Year holidays, the number of sick people increased 1.5 times due to people returning to work and study. Among all the sick, 74.6% are residents of Ryazan.

In the region, the number of COVID-19 cases has also increased, with nine reported last week.

To prevent flu and ARVI, it is recommended:

  • avoid contact with sick people;
  • if possible, reduce time spent in crowded places and public transport;
  • wear a medical mask in public places;
  • wash hands frequently and use antiseptic;
  • ventilate rooms and do wet cleaning;
  • spend more time outdoors;
  • lead a healthy lifestyle (healthy sleep, balanced diet, physical activity).
