Residents of Rybinsk in Yaroslavl Region have complained that cancer patients cannot receive subsidized medicines. According to them, the problem has persisted since January 12, 2026.

«Cancer patients cannot get the drug »Goserelin« in Rybinsk. There was a shipment of nine units on January 23, 2026, and some did receive it. In our case, the situation is this: today is already January 29, and a cancer patient has not received the medicine since January 14. And there is a strict dosing regimen; this drug is administered once every 28 days. So, the patient has been without medication for over two weeks,» a reader told 76.RU.

Goserelin is typically used to treat prostate and breast cancer.

The resident added that he had already filed a complaint with the Yaroslavl Region Ministry of Health.

«They promised that the drug would be at the Rybinsk pharmacy on January 28. Today, when calling the pharmacy, it was said that the drug had not arrived and is not expected. Whose negligence is this or grounds for a prosecutor»s check? We«re left in the lurch, constantly calling the pharmacy, going to the doctor, and being turned away. There are a considerable number of people like us who haven»t received it,« a Rybinsk resident said.

In response to a query from 76.RU, the Yaroslavl Region Ministry of Health stated that the drug will arrive at the pharmacy on January 30.

«Patients will be able to apply for a prescription from their attending doctor,» clarified the Ministry of Health.

In early December 2025, at the Gavrilov-Yam Central District Hospital in Yaroslavl Region, a giant queue formed at the pharmacy for subsidized medicines. It reached the point where the prosecutor«s office launched an investigation, and the deputy director of the state institution »Oblastnaya Farmatsiya« (Regional Pharmacy) lost his position due to the incident. Governor Mikhail Yevrayev explained why he decided to dismiss the employee.
