Primorye Woman Claims Hospital Sold Her Baby, Faked Death

Tatiana Khmelnova from Artyom stated on Andrey Malakhov«s show that the city maternity hospital sold her infant 33 years ago. After so many years, she wants to find the truth and therefore decided to go public. The city hospital could not help her with information, as many years have passed.

According to her, the doctors informed her of her daughter«s death on the day of delivery; first, the girl was taken away, Tatiana heard sobs, and then, at her request, they showed her the infant. But Tatiana did not believe it was her child. She is sure the baby was sold either for organ use or to other parents.

«Well, naturally, I had a very strong hysterical reaction right away. They gave me some sedatives. I asked to see the girl. She brought her out, unwrapped her, showed her. The girl already had her umbilical cord cut. She looked clean, as if she had just been washed. That is, there was no vernix on the child. As usual, when a baby is born, it should still have some vernix, some postpartum traces should have been there,» responded Tatiana to Malakhov«s question about why she formed this assumption.

Tatiana claims that mysterious child deaths started back in the 1990s. At that time, there were rumors about a stem cell business, which was advertised as a miracle cure for all diseases.

Other new mothers told her that it was already the fifth death in a week. On the show, she says that at the time, the doctors discouraged her from burying the child herself, suggesting to do it through an organization, and did not give her any autopsy documents. Later, Tatiana and her husband visited the grave, but she started to feel that it was not her daughter lying there. She began to think that her daughter might have survived.

«It was Sunday, when I had more or less come to my senses a bit. I went out to the girls in the hall, and the new mothers asked: »What happened to you, how are you?« I, looking like this, she says: »Oh, you know, she says, there already, she says, here the new mothers are talking among themselves anyway, communicating, she says that already four children had died in a week, I know they gave us a certificate, let«s go,»« recalled the Primorye woman.

It was not possible to obtain a comment from the institution at the time of publication by VLADIVOSTOK1.RU, but in the show, journalists managed to talk with some staff. They did not give answers to specific questions to the woman, but advised her to contact the archive. There, they stated that such documents are kept for 25 years.

It is claimed that they managed to find the exact midwife who delivered Tatiana«s baby, but the woman did not recognize the patient from the past and advised resolving all questions through the chief physician. She noted that all the doctors she remembers were responsible and law-abiding. This was confirmed by another interviewee of the heroine, noting that she does not recall similar cases.

Gathered specialists from various fields discussed segments from 2009, which also covered deaths and sales of children. According to one of the experts, in these stories from 1992 to 2012, over 60,000 children were indeed taken to America. Some of them were sold in private clinics, as indicated by an investigation from 2024, where several doctors were suspects.
