New epilepsy cases increase among children in Omsk region

In Omsk region, over three years, the number of children with newly diagnosed epilepsy has increased. As NGS55.RU was told by the regional Ministry of Health, in 2024, 201 children were first diagnosed, compared to 194 cases in 2023.

At the same time, the total number of minors registered with this disease decreased by 25 people, to 1,716.

«If the first signs of any disease of the central or peripheral nervous system are detected, it is necessary to consult a neurologist for diagnosis and confirmation.»

The regional Ministry of Health assured that all necessary medicines for beneficiaries are available: «All preferential prescriptions for these medicines have been fulfilled, and there are no delayed prescriptions for the mentioned drugs.»

According to the Ministry of Health«s information from January 26, preferential medicines are supplied regularly to city pharmacies.
