Mothers' Reviews of Krasnoyarsk Maternity Hospitals

A tragedy in Novokuznetsk, Kuzbass, where newborns died en masse at Maternity Hospital No. 1, resonated across the country. For years, the institution had dozens of violations, with patients complaining of rudeness, unsanitary conditions, and infection outbreaks. Against this backdrop, the NGS24.RU editorial board decided to examine reviews for Krasnoyarsk«s maternity hospitals. What is written about city institutions on online maps, whether some will be closed, and where to complain if their work was unsatisfactory—in a report by NGS24.RU Deputy Editor-in-Chief Polina Borodkina.
On January 12, it became known that Novokuznetsk Maternity Hospital No. 1 closed without explanation. On January 13, information emerged that at least six children died in the maternity hospital over the New Year holidays. Later it became known there were nine deaths. The Investigative Committee and prosecutor«s office began an inspection, and Kuzbass Governor Ilya Seredyuk suspended the hospital»s chief physician Vitaly Kheraskov. Our colleagues at NGS42.RU are collecting all current information on this topic here.

— I want to express my gratitude to the staff of Maternity Hospital No. 1. I was in the pathology department in October first—wonderful medical staff, very attentive and kind-hearted—thank you! <…> Just a powerhouse and an excellent team, I«m very glad I spent this unforgettable time with you.

— People working in Maternity Hospital No. 1 are doing a great thing, helping babies come into the world. Staff in all departments treat you with great respect and care! The attitude is simply superb, they always help and advise. Thank you <…> for their professionalism and help during childbirth! Thanks to these people, my little son came into the world. I also want to note the midwife who was with me from seven to eight in the morning after the birth; when we met, she asked how the delivery went. That is priceless.

— To say this is the best maternity hospital is an understatement. It«s really a resort. Pathology. What a wonderful attitude, even despite the midwives <…> working every other day, responsive, good-natured. The senior midwife is a wonderful, kind girl.
Obstetrician-gynecologist doctors are top-notch. <…> It«s love at first sight, the attitude is magnificent. The delivery department—well, here the professionalism is just top-level. <…> Thank you so much for helping my beautiful son come into the world. Definitely coming back to you for the second one. Postpartum, pediatrics, wonderful specialists…With them, nothing is scary. I hope the ambulance passed on my thanks to the departments. Once again, thank you so much, you are the best.

— <…> I definitely did not feel a lack of attention from the staff; on the contrary, I had several doctors and midwives. I would especially like to note the midwife <…>, she delivered my baby herself, guiding and controlling the birth process so that I gave birth in just three pushes without unnecessary tears/cuts, which couldn«t be said about my previous birth.
Also, only in this maternity hospital did I fully experience the «golden hour» with my child for the first time; it«s very valuable. The neonatologist we got was also a wonderful girl <…>—you can see she is very tender and loving towards her work. <…> Once again, thank you very much to everyone, from the admission ward to the postpartum department, for your sensitivity, attentiveness, professionalism, and hard work; you make an invaluable contribution to our lives.

— I gave birth in this awful place. I would never recommend giving birth here to anyone. The pregnancy was perfect, no threats. Upon arrival at this maternity hospital at 11 p.m., at 41 weeks, with 1 cm dilation, I was taken to the delivery room, my water was broken immediately, 18 hours of contractions, staff hardly approached, only one young non-Russian girl came, looked at the CTG, I was like a discarded piece of meat, no one was nearby, no one advised how to breathe or what to do to make it easier, just lying alone.
In the morning, they gave me an epidural anesthesia, at maximum dose, again nobody cares about me, dragged it out to nine centimeters dilation, I think I«m already seeing the light, time is 4:00 p.m. the next day, another young doctor comes (before that there was an elderly one), says: everything here is green, emergency C-section. I didn»t understand anything at all, how and what,
Result: they killed my child, the child didn«t cry, was immediately taken to intensive care and the next day transferred to the perinatal center with various diagnoses: brain damage, pneumonia, the child swallowed green amniotic fluid, infection, and so on.
The world just collapsed, how could the doctors allow this? How? This is solely the doctors« fault! We girls are giving birth for the first time, if there»s no labor activity, why torture for 18-20 hours in contractions? What kind of protocol is that? What«s the result? Killing the child… In the end, they put me in postpartum, everyone got their babies, of course I didn»t, couldn«t they put me in a separate room, no psychologist came, again nobody cares, nobody reported how the child was and what. We could sue, but when such things happen with a child, you don»t care about anything…

— I want to leave a review from 01/09/2026. It was my first birth. And I«m grateful to the ambulance that they brought me to this maternity hospital. Excellent doctors. Wonderful atmosphere in the delivery room and in the room with the baby, everything is great. Everyone walks around, asks how they can advise, help. Thanks to all the staff who supported me during my first birth.

— Hello. My opinion about this maternity hospital is only positive. My beloved son and daughter were born here. Son born 07/06/2022. Daughter—04/13/2024. Son was born a sturdy baby—3900 grams (8 lbs 10 oz) and 55 cm (1 ft 10 in). Daughter—3450 grams (7 lbs 10 oz) and 55 cm (1 ft 10 in). Gave birth without complications, completely healthy children. Huge thanks to all the maternity hospital staff. Unfortunately, I forgot the names of the doctors and midwives. I am pregnant again now and, of course, will go again to this wonderful maternity hospital. EDD is 06/27/2026.

— The best maternity hospital, we were born here 12/24/25. <…> The birth team was super, the delivery room has everything, and in mine there was even a bathtub where you can get through contractions, and some even give birth in water! There are also aroma oils, massage balls, and a speaker—in short, everything for a comfortable birth!
I gave birth for the first time and had little idea about it, and especially my husband, no matter how many courses you take, when you experience it for real, it«s completely different. The birth didn»t go smoothly, but the doctor team tried very hard, and my son was born without any interventions.
The postpartum room was super comfortable! Food is brought right to the room! You can always ask for advice, they will help and tell you everything, very close attention to the health of the mother and the health of the baby, for me that«s a huge plus! All staff are very nice and friendly! <…>

— It«s been almost a month since I gave birth at the sixth maternity hospital. You know, it»s not the first time I«ve been there and given birth, huge thanks to the pathology department staff, <…> even though the birth was hard for me, it»s already starting to fade…
User with username Larisa Grinkevich, November 24, 2025, one star:
— Terrible maternity hospital!!! Four different doctors came, and all examined me manually, and I was ready to pass out from the pain. Later, small contractions started, they sent me for an ultrasound, I stood waiting for the ultrasound with contractions already. In the end, from 1 a.m. to 9:30 they kept me and took me for an emergency C-section.
And then an even greater hell began. During the operation, the doctors tell me: don«t even count on a cosmetic suture (you»re chubby), it will be hard to do. I was just in shock from their incompetence. <…> The next day they transfer me to a double room, give me two pills, and live as you want, I walked like the letter «G» along the wall, barely moving my legs, but I didn«t think that when you»re transferred to a room, everyone automatically stops caring about you!
They took the child to the pathology department on the second floor, I was on the third floor, they forced me to go every three hours, to breastfeed, I could barely walk, at some point I realize, that«s it, I can»t, I tell the nurse at the station: «Please tell them I can»t come, I don«t even have the strength to walk.» In the morning a nurse comes and says: «Come to the station for a blood pressure check!». I tell her: «Sorry, but I can»t even get up,« and she answers me: »You need to walk it off!«. And with a displeased face, with a tonometer in her hands, she went to the next room to measure blood pressure.
After five days of hell, we were transferred to another hospital because they told me my child had jaundice, that blood sugar was dropping (all heels were pricked), a hematoma on the head (which would resolve on its own in a month, they said) and in the end, at the other hospital they take tests and say, you«re all fine, did all the ultrasounds, did a puncture, removed the bump that didn»t resolve on its own, and would have been a deformity for life, and sent us home.
As for the suture, I«m silent, they made it like the Nike logo, and they barely removed the threads, the doctor was in shock and said that in her 30-year career she had never seen such a terrible suture!

— On January 5, 2026, in this maternity hospital, they saved my daughter, doctor <…>, anesthesiologist <…> with the team promptly and without delay performed <…> a C-section, I thought this only happens in movies, but how these people worked, how they did everything possible and impossible, you could just give them a standing ovation!
Everyone knew their place, <…> the work of both the midwives, and the doctors, and the nurses, not a second«s delay! Within half an hour they got the baby out, neonatologists quickly received the baby girl, and then everything is just a blur, but I will forever remember the voice of the anesthesiologist who didn»t give me a second to sink into panic or tears. And then the ICU, where nurses helped, supported, and did everything so I could come off the anesthesia comfortably.
Recovery is still ongoing, but I am forever grateful to these people, to Maternity Hospital No. 4 for allowing me to hold my daughter in my arms! Thank you so much!

— I came to Krasnoyarsk Maternity Hospital No. 4 from another city. First, I was on bed rest. The staff was very caring. No complaints. The birth went beautifully. I will always remember this day. <…> In postpartum, of course, it«s different—examinations, procedures. Yes, they really do come into the room constantly. But it immediately teaches you the new life. Responsibility for yourself and the child. I»m grateful that everything is fine with me and my baby girl. I came for happiness. I got it!!!

— I want to express huge gratitude to the staff of the perinatal center! Thanks to you, I managed to maintain the pregnancy, carry the baby to 40 weeks, and give birth successfully in your wonderful center! Very good attitude, professionals work here. <…> The well-kept departments, cleanliness of the rooms, very comfortable conditions for mother and baby should be noted.

— I gave birth on 11/02, I want to express huge gratitude to midwife Bogach Victoria! The only doctor who supported and treated everything with understanding! Vika! Patience and strength to you! I«ll keep quiet about the rest of the staff, attitude like on a conveyor belt…

— Thank you for existing and helping new people be born! I ended up in the pathology department late term and waited for delivery. The center is cozy, clean, modern. Of course, no maternity hospital in our city can compare with it. But most importantly, people work there whom you can trust with the most precious thing, your children.
On 11/26/2025 I was transferred to the delivery department. The obstetrician who was with me that day not only controlled the process but also provided me with psychological support throughout the birth. No, she didn«t calm me down or pity me. She explained, set me up, and taught me what to do when the most crucial moment came, and when it came, she did everything so my child would be healthy and I wouldn»t come out «damaged».

— Thank you to the entire center team for me and my son. I found myself in my difficult situation, apparently, in all departments of the center, and everywhere everything was top-notch, absolutely all staff are maximally attentive and sensitive, everyone reacts very quickly and clearly to any request/wish.
Here they really will do everything so both mother and baby are comfortable, they won«t let you go until they»ve checked/cured you completely, all employees are very responsive, teach everything, advise at all stages of baby care.

— Huge gratitude to everyone who helped our girl come into the world a month ago! Admission room—all businesslike, polite, positive, prenatal department—also wonderful attitude! <…> Special thanks to the maternity hospital for the possibility of partner births. The delivery room itself is equipped with everything possible (lots of variations on how to get through contractions). Be sure to go on a tour of the maternity hospital before the birth, they«ll tell and show everything—when you know the environment inside, you feel more comfortable.
Unfortunately, I didn«t remember all the surnames of those I turned to for help in those three days—I thank everyone! In three days, of course, you go through such a school of life there, especially if it»s your first child! But here it«s important to maintain a positive attitude yourself and ask for help—they will definitely help and support!!!
User with username Nastya, January 9, 2026, five stars:
— Overall, everything is excellent. Yes, in the admission room those on duty the night of 09/13 to 09/14 were not very friendly (this isn«t so important in childbirth). I arrived with my water leaking, in the hospital it stopped, accordingly, when they took a test, they said it wasn»t water (come on, if it were my first birth, I might have mixed it up, it was my second birth, so I have an idea of what«s what). But they still put me on a CTG, and at that moment it started leaking again, then the midwife confirmed that it was them, the dear waters. <…>
Everything went wonderfully, even though they stimulated because dilation wasn«t progressing (yes, it»s hellishly painful compared to the natural process, but it couldn«t be dragged out further, I gave birth quickly afterwards). The postpartum department is also a five. I didn»t encounter rudeness. <..>
User with username Arter Doroveev, January 1, 2026, one star:
— Staff slept through the pushing, as a result the child had a birth injury after vacuum extraction. Unprofessional workers, with secondary specialized education, you«ll be lucky or not—it»s up to you. The second one we gave birth to in the perinatal center, a noticeable difference in all aspects, although paid. If you care about your children, keep in mind, this maternity hospital operates on maximum indifference.
User with username Darya Milovanova, December 27, 2025, five stars:
— <…> I gave birth on the night of December 5 to 6, a difficult birth because I arrived at almost 41 weeks, low amniotic fluid, medical staff in the prenatal was polite, they explained/told everything <…>, the birth was naturally stimulated.
In the delivery room upon arrival, everything was already there, balls, mats, shower, a bag with water and lollipops from the maternity hospital, and my husband, who came for partner birth. <…> Staff came in and checked me almost every hour, CTG, dilation, changed the duck. During the birth itself, they helped me with everything, pushing, breathing, advised what to do to make it easier. <…>.
After the birth, right in the delivery room, they fed me breakfast, <…> since I needed to lie down for another hour, then transferred me to postpartum, where nurses changed me and put me to sleep. Over two days, staff came in not only for check-ups but also, in general, to ask about my condition, maybe help with the baby or with breastfeeding.
For breastfeeding, the maternity hospital has excellent specialists, my milk didn«t come right away, the baby was supplemented with formula <…>, they helped me establish lactation and showed methods of latching the baby. The rooms are warm, shower, toilet—all clean. If you need to go out, you can take the baby to the children»s department—they«ll look after him there. If you»re thinking where to give birth, choose the fifth maternity hospital, you won«t regret it. Human attitude, with understanding and care.
User with username Ksenia B, December 26, 2025, three stars:
— <…> On the day X at night I felt bleeding, called an ambulance. Two ladies from the admission room come out somehow (one calm young one, the older one—disheveled, sleepy and angry), the angry one starts questioning the validity of the reason for waking them up at night. The doctor <…> comes down. And also all rumpled from sleep, starts <…> scolding me, <…> why I tolerated the water leaking and didn«t come during the day, but specifically at night. <…> And just stands there, yelling at me. <…> Yelling at a person who is already in a stressful situation because of the blood. In the end, she almost brought me to tears. <…> I was just afraid to get on that chair for her examination. <…>
And then what apparently finally predetermined my fate in this maternity hospital happens. My throat was sore, and they took a swab for viruses. It turns out I had the flu. Perhaps this influenced the attitude of some staff towards me as trash. That«s the scariest part. Then I spent a couple of days there in a separate room because of the virus. <…> The birth was stimulated with everything possible. I didn»t care, honestly. Since I wanted to give birth quickly and leave this place. <…>
Because of the flu, I had to say goodbye to dreams of bouncing on balls, mats, taking correct positions for dilation, walking in the shower. And they practically tied me to the CTG the whole time and didn«t let me get up. <…>
The midwife«s attitude was disgusting. Talking through clenched teeth, not the slightest word of support or how to maybe alleviate the suffering. <…> Scolded me for having few diapers, and there were taken according to the list—three. Said if I ran out of diapers, that»s my problem. <…> In short, it«s good that everything ended well. <…>
No complaints about the postpartum department, baby care by doctors, food. <…> The most important thing is a healthy child in the end. But not a day goes by that I don«t remember the horror of admission to the maternity hospital and the midwife»s attitude.

— Wonderful maternity hospital, huge thanks to the entire team of this wonderful place, I gave birth in August, I am delighted with the staff, in the delivery room wonderful, professional and very patient workers, thanks to them my girl was born. In postpartum, the staff is so wonderful you want to come back. They feed very well, tasty and a lot, definitely no one will go hungry and it was always clean, they even gave out clean diapers! Thank you very much for your work and your professionalism.
User with username Elena Myrzintseva, December 31, 2025, one star:
— I was in this maternity hospital several times. The first time I was in the pathology department for bed rest. And everything is perfect there, wonderful doctors, excellent nurses and orderlies.
But when I went there the second time to give birth. The staff is not just unqualified. They are such stars grabbing from the sky, it«s just some kind of horror. In the delivery department, they really left me alone with a plastic cup of water and said I couldn»t drink more, I screamed like a stuck pig for the whole department—no one came to me even once.
Postpartum—that«s a separate art form, on the second day of my stay in the postpartum department, a nurse with bulging eyes flew in, took my child away with the words: »This will be safer for you and your child.«
<…> They didn«t give me the child back for a day, for a day I was hysterical, crying, suffering and begging to return my child. Then the head doctor came and started explaining that this is for my child»s safety and mine.
In the end, thank God, I was discharged from there, <…>, and I got postpartum depression because they clearly conveyed to me that the mother [is bad]. <…>
I gave birth in 2021 and I«m still in shock, they sewed me up so, <…> that I later developed a cyst. It formed <…> externally, because of which I had to have surgery.

— Two stars only for all the midwives, cleaning ladies, and cooks. The midwives are the best, they support, calm, examine carefully. Children«s doctors are good, they told everything, showed, always help if needed. They cook tasty and filling food. They clean, rooms are clean. The birth was somewhat difficult, they pushed the child out of me. There was a cut, they sewed poorly, and when they removed the stitches, they immediately came apart, and now the healing has been prolonged. Apparently, it depends on luck in childbirth.

— It«s been seven months since I gave birth to my daughter, and I remember the midwife with huge gratitude. Very humane, friendly, sensitive. God himself sent you to me on the day labor started. Thank you so much. Take care of yourself, there are very few people like you.
User with username N I, December 5, 2025, five stars:
— Wonderful maternity hospital! Birth was in 2016, everything was just super. And in October 2025, starting with admission and ending with the cook, the staff is the best, in the delivery room support from all doctors and midwives, no one yelled even once, children«s doctors tell and advise everything. After birth, examinations are careful, and that»s very important. Everything is clean. Food is tasty, mashed potatoes with cutlet like at home—with love.
Huge thanks to all the staff for your work and love for your job. If I decide to have another, it«s only to you! By the way, in December 1990, 35 years ago, I myself was born there, and my mother at that time also had the best reviews. Thanks!

User with username an_krsk:
— I gave birth in 2023 at the fifth maternity hospital. It was Saturday. Let«s start with the admission room, the phrase »somehow you don«t look like you»re in labor« was somewhat alarming, I was alone in the delivery department. Medical staff sat, watched series or movies, came to me once every two hours. During the birth itself, the doctor was rude and allowed himself to swear. In postpartum it»s even funnier, the attitude is as if I give birth every day and know what, where, why and how. In short, quite a ride.
User with username Ekaterina:
— Hello. I gave birth in autumn 2025 at Maternity Hospital No. 4. Everything is excellent. Very satisfied. All trash is sorted into different bins. They strictly monitor this. Everything is clean. They feed tasty food. Just wish they«d increase portions in the postpartum department. After all, breastfeeding mothers are there. And the birth went excellently. Doctors chose the right tactics in my planned birth. During birth they helped, everyone is very polite. Honestly, I thought it»s like that everywhere now. But I read the news and I«m horrified.
User with username Lolly969:
— I gave birth very recently at Maternity Hospital No. 1. Staff is friendly, of course, no one was rude, but too many unnecessary stimulations, they broke the water under the pretext of «looking at the color of the water before the epidural,» dripped «Oxytocin» and gave injections to intensify contractions, although no one diagnosed «weak labor activity.» I gave birth with a scar from my first C-section, sent me to give birth naturally, I didn«t mind. But these extra manipulations for no clear reason. Plus they tore me, so they had to stitch me up. It»s not that I«m impressionable, they broke the water for all the girls in my room the same way and tore them.
The attitude in postpartum is just horror, as if I came to the nurses« home. In all three days there, there was one examination and one ultrasound. No procedures. Good thing they checked the babies every day.
Will they close or not?
In early November 2025, regional Legislative Assembly deputy Alexey Boykov stated that two Krasnoyarsk maternity hospitals might close due to a decline in the birth rate. Then a source close to the ministry told NGS24.RU that there are «few births» currently at maternity hospitals on Predmostnaya and in Solnechny.
The Ministry of Health of Krasnoyarsk Krai briefly commented on this information as follows:
«Obstetric facility capacities are excessive, we are discussing the issue.»
At the same time, the regional Minister of Health in a major interview with NGS24.RU told what will actually happen with maternity hospitals in Krasnoyarsk and why there is talk of reorganizing the work of these institutions:
«For now, we openly state the fact that the capacity of the obstetric service is excessive for the number of births that exist. I would speak not about closing maternity hospitals, but about reorienting their activities.
I repeat, we need to strengthen the women«s clinic. Well, go outside, talk to women, who among them is directly satisfied with the conditions, appointment times at the women»s clinic. We also know all these complaints, so we need to strengthen there, we need to strengthen the preventive direction, maybe create a proper diagnostic center for women«s health issues, for reproductive health issues, where men will also go, among others,» he said.
I«m dissatisfied with the maternity hospital»s work—what to do?
The Ministry of Health of Krasnoyarsk Krai previously clarified to NGS24.RU that if a patient encounters problems in a medical institution, they can seek resolution by calling the short number of the unified contact center 122 or directly to their insurance company. A complaint can also be left on the ministry«s website in the section for citizen appeals—here is the link.
Meanwhile, Krasnoyarsk residents chose the best maternity hospital in our weekly «People»s Rating« column. In the comments, Krasnoyarsk women shared the horrors they had to endure in maternity hospitals.
