An outbreak of intestinal infection has been recorded among students at the Onokhino school in Tyumen District. The Commissioner for Children«s Rights in Tyumen Region, Oksana Savinova, commented on the situation.
She said: «The situation is under control, the health department and the Rospotrebnadzor office (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) are actively working on this issue, representatives of the agencies have gone to the scene. An epidemiological investigation is being conducted.»
Currently, the cause of the infection spread has not been established. Specialists are checking whether it is related to school meals or other factors.
Earlier, the information center of the Tyumen Region government confirmed cases of intestinal infection in children. In connection with this, an inspection has been organized at the Onokhino school. The local medical outpatient clinic refused to comment on the condition of the victims, citing lack of information.
According to the Telegram channel BAZA, the number of victims could reach 116 people, one of whom has been hospitalized. Official authorities have not yet reported the exact number of sick children.
