The Commissioner for Children«s Rights in the Tyumen region, Oksana Savinova, commented to 72.RU on the situation in Onokhino, where several dozen children contracted an intestinal infection.

«The situation is under control. The health department and the Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) are now closely dealing with this issue; representatives from [the agencies] have gone to the site. An epidemiological investigation is being conducted,» the ombudswoman told a journalist from the publication.

It is still unknown whether the spread of the infection was caused by food or something else — this is the detail the inspectors are trying to ascertain.

Recall that today the information center of the Tyumen regional government reported that children were found to have an intestinal infection. In connection with this, an inspection is underway at the Onokhino school, 72.RU reported. The Onokhino medical outpatient clinic told a journalist that they «do not have information» about the condition of the victims.

The Telegram channel BAZA reported that 116 people were affected, with one hospitalized. The official number of children with the infection has not yet been announced.
