Attitude to Life is Key: Healthy Longevity Movement Presented in Chita

The regional movement «For Healthy Longevity Medicine» was presented in Chita during the Civil Forum on 21 January. Its goal is to give Transbaikal residents an understanding of the opportunities in the region for an active and healthy life, Vice Premier of the regional government Victoria Bessonova told journalists.
«Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova launched this project at the federal level last year. Now such a movement is being created in each region so that residents get involved and understand what opportunities exist for an active and healthy life. The movement is not so much about medicine as about our own attitude to our lifestyle, about forming a culture of health preservation. We are creating experience so that people lead the right lifestyle — how to start the day, what to eat, whether to exercise, whether harmful habits are needed. We want to reach all settlements with this message, even the smallest villages,» said Bessonova.
The ambassador of the movement became the general director of «Chita.Ru», chairman of the Public Chamber of the region Andrey Kozlov. He said that the federal project will be adapted to regional realities.
«The main thing is for people to pay attention to how they live. I came to this after almost dying in the intensive care unit of the 1st City Hospital. I had complete lung damage, a cottony feeling for several days. After that, I completely changed my attitude to life. My doctor Sergey Lukyanov treated me and afterwards made me go for a check-up (comprehensive medical examination. — Ed.»s note). I went because I was afraid of dying at 45 years old,« said Andrey Kozlov.
He gave several examples from life, noting that one should consult all doctors if there is a reason and not feel embarrassed even before a proctologist, urologist or psychiatrist.
The project involves several blocks. Among them are check-up programs that need to be done at different ages, a block on physical activity, on nutrition, sleep and stress.
Also, the movement will pay attention to medical check-ups, which will help identify health problems at an early stage, including oncology. An important direction will be work with alcoholism. Kozlov, speaking about this direction, noted that alcohol is to blame for the reduction in men«s lives due to diseases, crimes and accidents.
