Yulia Kiseleva, Chair of the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture (KGA), announced on January 20 at a TASS press conference that Rosatom and KGA are working on creating a precise three-dimensional model of St. Petersburg. This project will allow for solving various urban planning tasks, and by 2026, about 40% of the city«s area will be digitized.

Last year, we worked with Rosatom on pilot zones in St. Petersburg to create a three-dimensional development model with absolute accuracy in terms of georeferencing to the territory and land plots, and absolute accuracy in the models themselves regarding the dimensions of facades, elements of decorative applied art on facades, and so on. We will certainly develop this further. It«s clear that this is a very expensive undertaking, but nevertheless, the implementation of this task will allow us to solve many others,

Kiseleva explained.

The head of KGA noted that such a three-dimensional model will, among other things, simplify the placement of informational signs on building facades on a notification basis.
