A report of a pipeline burst at 33 Veteranov Avenue came from a local resident on January 30. In the five-story building No. 41, the temperature immediately dropped noticeably.

As clarified by Zhilkomservis No. 3 of the Kirovsky District, the heat shutdown affected not only Veteranov Avenue but also Dachny, Stachek, and Lyoni Golikov Streets. In total, 60 buildings were in the accident zone.

The damaged section of the main has a diameter of 400 millimeters and has been in operation for 35 years. The defect was localized at 3:30 a.m.

St. Petersburg Heating Network added that ground subsidence was found at the site. There were no injuries as a result of the incident, and the area is cordoned off. According to standards, 15 hours are allotted for eliminating such damage.

Cars were evacuated from the scene, after which specialists began excavation work. The repair is planned to be completed by 6:30 p.m., but an earlier finish is possible. Heating supply in the district is temporarily limited, but hot water supply is operating at full capacity.
