Housing and utilities in Krasnokamensk after director's sentence

A new acting director has been appointed at LLC «Housing and Utilities Company» (ZHKU) in Krasnokamensk (Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia) after the previous head, Arkady Vershinin, was put on trial for bribery. This was reported to Chita.Ru correspondent on January 30 by the head of Krasnokamensk district, Konstantin Zverev.

On January 29, the Krasnokamensk City Court sentenced Arkady Vershinin to 4 years in a general regime colony and a fine of 1.5 million rubles (approximately $16,500 at current rates).

Zverev said that the company«s board of directors appointed Sergey Sklyarov as director in early January.

When asked how he assesses the risks to the housing and utilities system due to the reshuffling, the district head replied that everything is currently working without disruptions: «There are issues, but we are working in crisis mode. We have no disruptions.»

In December 2025, the municipal institution «ZHKU», which serviced residential buildings, was liquidated in Krasnokamensk, and LLC «ZHKU» was created in its place. The enterprise was founded in early 1996. The founder was the district administration. The activities of the municipal unitary enterprise ceased on December 22, 2025 through reorganization. On the same day, LLC «ZHKU» was established, with the founder being the administration of Krasnokamensk municipal district.
